His album cover apes a perforated acid tab blotter (presumably not functional) and he used to play in Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti. Gary War comes from good, experimental stock and his new single ‘Eye In The Sky’ (out August 13th) certainly confirms his place at the top table of hair-brained creators.
A cover of The Alan Parsons Project 1982 song of the same name, it’s got warped chitter-chatter and more layers than a millefeuille. It may leave you scratching your head looking up to the sky for answers.
Gary War’s re-mastered debut LP ‘New Raytheonport’ comes out August 27th on Care In the Community Recordings.
